Let’s face it – how your man looks effects your style too. This season men are looking retro chic and taking fashion back to the era of  the 1950s and 60s for cool inspirations. With hybrid looks making waves as styles embrace natural texture on hairstyles,  fades and undercuts are becoming increasingly  popular.

THE CONTEMPORARY LIFT

From ducktails to King sized lifts the pompadour hairstyle has maintained its popularity throughout the ages due to its versatility and fine dapper look. The style not only suits all face shapes but even all ages and can be easily modernized. Justin Timberlake and David Beckman are both fans of the reworked, contemporary quiff. For a slick result spray volume enhancing  hairspray over the hair. It will hold even the most outrageous hairdo  in place.

This  new trend this season has been refined where men are opting for contrast between the scalp exposing sides and back, and volume on top. Alternatively, if you want to stay true to the Rockabilly nature of this look ask your hairdresser to keep some length on the back and sides. If you have fine hair then try volume foams available anywhere. The product will enhance the hair without weighing it down and is perfect for those seeking an extra boost.

THE FADE OUT LOOK

The Fade is defined by the gradual increase of hair length from the neck to the crown. This is a  low maintenance  look but finding a skilled barber is essential for achieving this style. Comb over fades are gaining popularity as side parts make a comeback but by far the most popular fade of the season is the lower fade. The low fade removes weight but still retains the clean cut look. Men hairstylists are all fans of the fade but prefer the added length to play around with, creating a messed up look full of body and texture.

Man-Bun-Hairstyles-for-men

THE BUN

Controversial as it may be, the look is a sure head turner. If you prefer longer locks then don’t fret because the bun look is as easy to pull as it is to make. The style is bohemian and the less effort you put into this look the sexier it is. Men with both straight and curly hair can wear this look; however, if you prefer a smoother finish start by passing a gel styler through your hair first. This style has been on the radar for a while now so if you are already a top knot-devotee then perhaps the undercut/knot fusion is the change you need this season.

men-undercut-2013

THE UNDERCUT

This edgy alternative is to lose the bun and chosen as an undercut while still keeping length on top. This look takes its roots from the pomp poof but the lift is quite subtle compared to its traditional brother. To keep everything in its place try cream wax products  to mould the lengthy ends into your desired shape.

Post Monsoon Care For Your Skin & Hair /_p=3026 /_p=3026#comments Fri, 09 Oct 2015 11:59:42 +0000 /_p=3026 The humid season, with all its unholy stickiness, is on its last leg. Our hair and skin will probably be glad to say goodbye to the unfavorable conditions. But how do you deal with the aftermath of the rainy season? While dancing in the rain (or romantic walks) might seem very enjoyable, it almost always leaves the skin and hair in a dire situation for months after. Break-outs and increased hairfall are just a couple of post monsoon baggage that we all have to carry, among other things. Here, we tell you how to care for and restore your skin and tresses back to their healthy state.

Post Monsoon Skin Care

Following a set regime is very important. And your basic “cleansing toning moisturizing” routine will not do either. Restoring rain affected skin to its original glow and clarity is no mean feat and it requires some additional steps in your daily regimen.

Start off by carefully selecting a non-comedogenic cleanser for your face (one that suits your specific skin type). After washing your face with the cleanser, apply toner for restoring the PH balance. Next comes a treatment cream/gel, like Sebonac Gel, if you have pimple-prone skin or the rains have left you with regular break-outs. Follow it up with sunscreen during daytime, and under-eye gel and repair-action night cream before bedtime. Exfoliate your skin twice a week, getting rid of all the blackheads and other pore blockages using a gentle exfoliator. You should also never skip out on sunscreen or night cream, because they help preserve your glow and youthfulness.

Cleanser you need it to thoroughly clean sunscreen and moisturizer without irritating the skin Kaya Skin Clinic Soothing Cleansing Gel/

Exfoliant a low percentage glycolic acid product, an exfoliating cleanser  to keep pores clear and reduce oiliness AHA Glow face wash or Glomed face wash (medical stores)
Treatment a low percentage salicylic acid product to keep pores clear and reduce oiliness Sebonac Gel (medical stores)
Moisturizer for relief from dry, stretchy feeling and possible skin flaking Neutrogena Oil-free Moisture for Combination Skin (not the SPF 15 version) / Aloe Veda Aloe Vera Gel / Sebamed Clear Face Gel  (online shopping websites)
Sunscreen to prevent darkening of acne spots and overall sun protection Sunprotek Gel SPF 30+ /
Bioderma Photoderm Spot SPF 50+ /
Kaya Daily Use Sunscreen + with SPF 15 /
Suncote Gel SPF 30+

Once a week, you should also apply restorative home-made masks, like these.

Eating lots of leafy greens and fresh fruits and including loads of fluids in your daily diet will make a huge difference, giving you an all over healthy glow and lustrous hair.

Post Monsoon Hair Care

Don’t worry too much if the monsoon has taken a toll on your locks, causing dryness and hairfall and such. Some care is all you need to restore the health of your mane.

9_ways_to_fight_hair_fall_this_monsoon_thumbnail1

After washing and before styling, if any, take a few drops of some lightweight hair oil (we recommend Conatural’s Argan Oil) and smooth into your locks, taking care to focus more on the ends at first and massage any remainder into your scalp. Use this as you would a serum or leave-in conditioner. Not only will it minimize frizz, it will nourish and moisturise your hair on-the-go.

An oil massage once or twice a week can do wonders for transforming your hair and keeping it manageable. For those experiencing excessive hair fall, apply slightly warm oil on the roots and massage thoroughly for added blood circulation in the scalp. All oil treatments are additionally effective if you wrap a hot, damp towel around your hair once you’ve applied the oil. Doing this will repair damaged hair plus protect hair from then on.

The monsoon weather already is notorious for aggravating hair fall. Combing your hair once it’s wet causes more hair to fall out since the hair is weaker and more susceptible to damage when wet. Wait till hair is dry or even slightly damp and then have a go with a wide toothed comb. Keeping the curls? Don’t comb your hair at all.

Aloe vera loves your hair in so many ways. It is nourishing and healing inside and out, so when applied on the hair in the form of a hair mask, it rejuvenates and heals damaged follicles. After the monsoon, it also helps to combat any infection causing bacteria around your scalp and reduces any itching you may have had during the damp and rainy monsoon months. Similarly, pureed neem leaves and yogurt are also good options for nourishing hair masks that keep any itchiness and infections of the scalp at bay and the yogurt in protein will also make hair stronger.

Steer clear of processed and unnatural foods and instead opt for fruits and veggies, lean proteins and healthy complex carbs. Adequate protein intake is particularly important when it comes to healthy hair, so indulge in some protein rich foods like fish, yogurt, nuts, sprouts, etc.

12. For Paul Smith, Stylist Tina Outen created this amazing twisted hairstyle armed with Bumble and bumble products. She split the hair into two equal sections and tonged the front section of the hair away from the face, brushed through to create a soft wave. Next she pulled both sections into ponytails just below the ears, twisted and criss-crossed the hair around in a figure of eight then pinned to secure.

13. Bushy “feral brows” trended at Christopher Kane where models showcased a raw and undone beauty look by NARS. It seems bold brows are going nowhere.

14. Lead makeup artist Gucci Westman gave girls at Marchesa dewy skin with the MAC Strobe Cream and SK11 Mid-Day Setting Spray. The main focus was on the lips, though – lined with MAC’s Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in the fuchsia shade More To Love and layered with a matte pink lipstick to suit each model. The hair was center parted and styled in a sleek, sophisticated chignon.

Well, why not? “Makeup is different now, you do what you want and you’re not dictated by seasons,” she said backstage. Gigi Hadid demonstrated this well. Her beach waves were adorned with Tahitian-inspired wreaths for the ultimate beauty look inspired by the tropics.

The most poll answer would be HAIR, whether we asked a man or any girl on the planet. Braid it, style it or downright chop it off, there are a million ways to rock an style it. 7099d50e7fc76cc72d2f094e97fc459d

We’ve seen every possible style around the global runway, from messed up hair, to sleek tight backs; from tight high to right out of the bed look- ponytails are the little black dress of hair fashion. The global runway platform has witnessed everything from loose and messy to slicked back and sleek, recently the low pony “reined” supreme. Whether swept to the side or hanging down the middle of the back, designers such as Michael Kors and Dior charged their cool looks with tied back tresses. The best thing about Low ponytails is that despite of being chic and sophisticated, the look is surprisingly simple to replicate in the comfort of your own home – no salon needed! Suitable for any type of hair, this trend works with almost every cut, making it an instant classic. So a style with a save! Who wouldn’t love that?

The messy and loose look although easy to pull, exhibits a relaxed overall feel. With tendrils of hair framing the face, the loose low ponytail is effortlessly beautiful. You don’t need pin straight hair for this style, this style can become your favorite go-to., even if you have naturally wavy or curly hair.

A tip you would find hard to believe- The best way to rock this look is in unwashed hair– you want it to have a little texture without being greasy. If you have naturally straight hair, create loose waves with a large barrel curling iron. Skip the hairbrush for this look, instead using your fingers to comb through hair for a loose, pieced effect. Then, gently sweep back hair at the nape of the neck, securing with a hair tie or elastic.

The low level of this ponytail makes it applicable to everything from out on the town to the most glamorous of events. Wear as-is for a simple take on elegance, or dress it up with an intricate design or eye-catching embellishment, such as a metallic hair tie-the choice is yours!

Using hair wraps gives it an edgier look and makes your look even more polished than using a regular scrunchy. Depending on your ensemble, you can decide to to part your hair in the middle or on the side (this will create a low side pony). So, try this evolving look for your next office party or family occasion, looking effortlessly chic. Even with the simple let low look, there are many ways to intertwine your personality and make it fun.

Home Remedies For Hair Fall /_p=2312 /_p=2312#comments Fri, 31 Jul 2015 19:12:32 +0000 /_p=2312 Hair fall is one scary health issue that all of us deal with at some point in our lives. There can be several factors behind hair loss such as environmental effects, aging, too much stress, excessive smoking, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, genetic factors, scalp infections, use of wrong or chemically enriched hair products, certain medicines and medical conditions like thyroid disorder, autoimmune diseases, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), iron-deficiency anemia, and chronic illnesses.

There are about 100,000 strands of hair on your scalp and it is considered very normal to lose 50 to 100 strands a day. But when you start losing more than that, it’s time for you to take some action so it doesn’t progress to baldness or bald spots. Many readily available ingredients can be used to treat hair loss at home.

1. One among effective ways is using fenugreek / methi for hair loss. Seeds of fenugreek consist of rich hormone antecedents that help in hair growth and repairs hair follicles. These also consist of nicotinic acid and proteins strengthen the hair growth. How to use fenugreek seeds for hair? Soak the fenugreek seeds in water overnight and grind it in the next morning to fine paste. Apply this fenugreek seed paste to hair and leave it for 30 minutes. Rinse off the hair. Follow it for month to see best results.

2. Pure aloe gel or aloe juice can be applied directly to the scalp. This can treat hair loss, which is caused due to dry or infected scalp. After massaging the scalp with juice or gel, wait for a few hours and wash it away with lukewarm water. Use of aloe vera with triphala powder for 3-6 months also treats hair loss.

3. Neem is a plant, which is ornamented with all the essential qualities. It is anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-diabetic, sedative, and antiseptic in nature. It is not only useful in diseases but is also an excellent home remedy for hair loss. Boil leaves of neem in water until the water remains half. Let it cool and wash your hair once in a week with this water.

4. Boil some dried amla in coconut oil till the oil gets black. Massaging the scalp with this oil will prove to be very effective. Amla can also be used alternatively by making its paste with shikakai. Apply the thick paste and wash it after a few minutes. Avoid shikakai if you have dry hair.

5. Both onion and garlic are a rich source of sulphur, and they help in the growth of hair. To apply onion, you need to chop it finely and extract out the juice. Massage the scalp well with this juice and wash off with a mild shampoo. Onion can also be used with honey as a hair mask. Garlic can be applied on the scalp by boiling it with coconut oil. Massage the scalp with this potion, two to three times a week, for best results.

6. Licorice root is another herb that prevents hair loss and further damage to the hair. The mollifying properties of licorice roots open the pores, soothe the scalp and help get rid of irritations like dry flakes. This remedy is good for dandruff, hair loss and baldness. Add one tablespoon of ground licorice root to one cup milk with a quarter teaspoon saffron. Mix it thoroughly. Apply the paste on bald patches at bedtime and leave it on overnight. In the morning, wash your hair. Follow this remedy once or twice a week.

7. The safest step that you can take to reduce hair loss is to massage your scalp with appropriate hair oil. Proper hair and scalp massage will increase blood flow to the hair follicles, condition the scalp, and enhance the strength of your hair’s roots. It will also promote relaxation and reduce feelings of stress. You can use hair oils like coconut or almond oil, olive oil, castor oil, amla oil, or others. Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil to the base oil for better and faster results. Other types of oil that you can use are emu oil, argan oil, and wheat germ oil.

Try these out, but only if you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients involved. Leave us your thoughts in the comments section below!

Humidity Turning Your Mane To A Frizzy Mess? Try These Home Cures! /_p=1782 /_p=1782#comments Thu, 28 May 2015 14:39:41 +0000 /_p=1782 Dry and frizzy hair is a cry for oil nourishment and moisturizing. Moisturizing is of paramount importance for curly and rough hair types to maintain manageable hair. Most women around the world prefer a weekly visit to hair spas for keeping frizz at bay. This is not a very affordable option for many. On the other hand some might not favor the chemical based products used in these spas.

Frizzy hair can look dull and be very difficult to style. The main cause of frizzy hair is lack of moisture. The cuticle layers on hair strands need moisture to make them smooth. Some other contributing factors are extreme humidity, regular use of a blow dryer, swimming in chlorinated water, certain chemicals in hair care products and using the wrong products for your hair type.

We listed down the best home care remedies for taming out-of-control frizz and make your locks silky, smooth and bouncy again!

1. Hot Oil Massage

Hot-oil-massage

Yes you may have heard a lot about it; but did you implement it in proper ways?

There is no big science behind this remedy if you haven’t known how to do it at home. First off, take some pure extra virgin oil in a pot and warm it for 2-4 minutes. Then let it cool down slightly at room temperature so that it becomes tolerable on your scalp. Adding 2 tablespoons of honey can add extra benefit because it will help to smooth the hair fiber. Then apply this oil and gently massage it on your scalp and root to top. Take a plastic bag or hot towel and wrap your head with covering hair so that it can hold the moisture. Now let it stay for 1 hour and shampoo your hair as usual. And finally see the magic of one of the oldies but goody home remedies for frizzy hair.

You can also apply coconut oil, castor oil, almond oil or rosemary oil and follow the same process.

2. Carbonated Water

9d8ef650ac3316bb8b743971828790ce

Carbonated water (such as club soda, soda water or sparkling water) is one of the best options for treating frizzy hair at home. Carbonated water is made by using pressure to dissolve carbon dioxide gas in water. This water has low pH levels that help fight frizz caused by humidity.

Simply rinse your hair with carbonated water after each regular shampooing. This will soothe and tame the frizz, but you need to follow this remedy regularly for quite some time.

3. Beer

17m35thl49fy7jpg

Beer is a great option for restoring moisture in your hair. It also has nutrients, minerals, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants that your hair needs. Use darker beers for best results.

Simply coat your hair with beer, allow it to sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out with cold water. Do this once every two weeks.
Another option is to mix equal amounts of beer, shampoo and conditioner. Apply this solution on your hair. Now brush your hair to create tension. Leave it on for a few minutes and then rinse your thoroughly with cold water.
Use beer on your hair once every two weeks.

Note: Cold water is believed to help close the hair cuticles, which makes it less susceptible to frizz, and adds shine.

4. Avocado

Avocado-Recipes

An avocado-based hair mask is a highly effective remedy to control frizzy hair. The high amount of vitamin E present in avocado helps tame the frizz. Apart from the amazing hydrating benefit, avocado also has the good kind of fatty acids that help soothe frizzy and unruly hair.

Mash one ripe avocado, add a little olive oil and mix it well. Shampoo your hair and then apply the mixture throughout your hair. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour, and then rinse it out with cold water. You can then condition your hair to get rid of the avocado scent.
You can also mash an avocado and mix it with curd or mayonnaise to make a smooth paste. Use this as a hair mask once or twice every week to prevent dryness and condition your hair.

5. Bananas

large

Bananas are great for hair conditioning because they are rich in natural oils, potassium, carbohydrates and vitamins. All these ingredients lock in moisture to soften and add shine to your hair and help prevent and repair split ends.

Mash one ripe banana with a fork until there are no lumps. Mix in one-fourth cup of yogurt. Then add two tablespoons each of honey and olive oil. Apply the mask all over your hair and scalp. Put a shower cap over your hair and leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse your hair and then shampoo and condition as usual. Do this once a week.

6. Egg and Mayo

186261355

Mix together one egg yolk and 2 tablespoons of Mayo (not the eggless kind). Add one tablespoon each of olive oil and honey for extra nourishment! Apply all over your locks working from the scalp toward the ends. Let it sit for an hour before washing off and shampooing with cold water.

This treatment will leave your hair shiny and ultra smooth.

PLEASE NOTE – do not use any home remedy if you are allergic to any one of the ingredients.

Leave us your experience with these home remedies in the comments below.

Top Beauty Trends from Lakmé Fashion Week /_p=1509 /_p=1509#comments Sat, 28 Mar 2015 08:21:56 +0000 /_p=1509 With the excitement from last week’s Lakmé Fashion Week finally returning to the ground, we rounded up the 6 beauty trends that took the Summer/Resort 2015 runways by storm. These are the ones to stick to this season, experts swear!

1. Dewy Matte Faces – The no-make-up look continues to reign this season, this time with a play on textures. Matte faces had an ethereal glow, a classic trick of the correct highlighter that gave the models dewy-finished skin. Most designers stuck to neutrals, and for some, the cheeks radiated a very natural post-workout flush. Here’s a step by step guide to getting the perfect dewy matte look!

  • Apply foundation in a color that’s the closest match to your skin tone.
  • Apply concealer to cover any discoloration or shadows on the skin.
  • Using a flat-topped, full circular brush in circular motions, buff the foundation to get a well polished look.
  • Dab the center of the face using M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in a shade that matches your skin tone for a natural satin finish.
  • For a natural flush on the cheeks, use a cream blush in warm peach on the apple of the cheeks.
  • Then, use a cream color base on the eyelid in a natural shade, and lightly powder it. Bobbi Brown’s malted shade of Long-Wear Cream Shadow works well as a natural base colour on Indian skin.
  • Curl the lashes and apply some mascara to define the lashes.
  • Groom the brows with an eyebrow pencil in a shade that exactly compliments your natural hair.

2. Sculpted Lips – Chiseled, sharp shaped lips were created by Lakmé make-up expert Natasha Nischole and her team of artists. This trend was not only spotted on the runway at Anamika Khanna’s show, but was also a favorite for front row celebrities like Deepika Padukone, who sported perfectly sculpted, deep burgundy lips, while watching Sabyasachi’s opening show.

3. Matte Nude Pouts – Velvety nudes in peaches and soft creams were a hit on and off the runway–at shows like Manish Malhotra and on front-rowers like Neha Dhupia.

4. Deep Darks on the Lips – On one hand there were nudes, on the other, deep, dark burgundys, plums, reds and the color of the year, Marsala at Tarun Tahiliani and Anamika Khanna.

5. Big Lashes – Mascara was layered, multiple times on the lashes, to give the models a beaming face.

6. Structured Updo’s and Center Parts – Elegant updos—twisted, pinned and knotted—were seen at Krishna Mehta’s show among others. The middle-part, seen at Huemn, Sabyasachi and others, rules this summer – for ponytails, straight hair, top knots – it’s the way to go for that perfect summer do.

Hydrating Hair Mask for Reviving Dull Hair /_p=1497 /_p=1497#comments Wed, 11 Mar 2015 12:52:03 +0000 /_p=1497 All the pollution around us, plus the excess product build-up and use of heat (too much use of tongs or blow drying!) affect our hair quite adversely, sapping it of its natural moisture and bounce. All we are left with are dull, life-less tresses. But we have a wonderful recipe (tried and tested!) for a super hydrating homemade hair mask that will leave your mane luxuriously rejuvenated, nourished and revived with a new bounce!

You can easily find all the ingredients in your kitchen itself. Convenient, eh!

Separate 1 egg yolk in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (yes, mayo! And not the egg-less sort; we need the real deal!) to it. Finally, add 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoon hot olive oil to the egg-mayo mix. Blend all items together so that no lumps remain. Apply all over scalp and hair (working downwards from the roots to tips).

Effective_Hair_Mask_For_Split_Ends__Do_It_Yourself_2

Keep for an hour and wash off with cool water. You might have to shampoo twice to get rid of the egg-mayo smell. Towel-dry hair after.

We bet you won’t tire of running your fingers through your newly soft and glossy tresses – they’ll be so frizz-free and manageable!

Note: Do not try the hair mask if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.

The snooze button definitely takes priority over primping and hair-styling. So we made a list of 15 step by step tutorials that will end in fabulous hairdos in just 5 minutes… or less!

1.  Knot your everyday basic ponytail! Apply mousse or serum to get rid of the frizz and make hair manageable. Then carefully tie your hair into the basic double knot. Secure with a hair tie in a way that the hair tie is hidden beneath the knot. There you have it – your not so basic side ponytail!

2. The milkmaid braid – Braid two sections of your hair then place your left braid over your head and secure the edge to the right side of your head with bobby pins. Do the same on your right braid. Voila! Your Phoebe Buffay inspired hairstyle is pretty and easy!

3. The criss-cross bun – The chic bun just got chicer! Roll upper half of your hair into a bun. Divide lower hair into two. Cross the right part under the bun and wrap the hair around it and secure with a bobby pin or two. Do the same with the left part.

4. The twisted side ponytail – Start twisting pieces of hair together, from the back of your ear moving toward the other side. Secure in a side ponytail with a hair tie. Wrap a small piece of hair over the the hair tie until it’s very small and can be tucked under the ponytail with a bobby pin.

5. A tousled braid is oh-so-trendy and super easy to do. Simply sweep your hair back and weave a low, loose braid—don’t worry if pieces fall out along the way. Dab on a tinted lip gloss and you’re good to go!

6. We love braids of all varieties, but this little hairline braid is a quick way to get cute in a hurry. Just french braid along the hairline and pin it up  behind your ear!

7. Speaking of gorgeous up-dos that don’t require hours of hard work- have you tried scarves? There are dozens of interesting ways to tie a scarf and create a truly magnificent hairstyle even on a bad hair day! Wrap it around like a headband to cover up the fact that you’ve neglected to wash your hair, braid it with your hair on days when you don’t want to bother with voluminizing products or wrap it like a turban in case your hair is a total mess and you don’t have a minute to waste on styling it.

8. A glamorous, slightly messy ponytail is one of those easy hairstyles that certainly won’t require more than five minutes of your time and will make you look super-chic. So, whenever your hair declares a war, just sweep it in a ponytail leaving one tiny section out, tease the base of the ponytail and wrap the section you’ve left out to hide the band.

9. Spice up the classic “half up half down” hairdo by making a dainty little braid down the middle on the backside of your head.

10. The braid in braid – We’re going to bet that you’ve already mastered the standard three-strand braid. This “braid in braid” hairstyle is so easy that you’ll have time to spare in your regular “getting ready” AM routine. All you have to do is divide your hair into three even parts, then braid the middle section. After that, just braid all your hair together the regular way. We love the texture in the final look.

11. The knotted and wrapped bun – Here’s another romantic updo that is — honest-to-goodness — lovely enough for a big, formal event. It’s also super pretty for more casual shindigs, so don’t hold back. All you have to do is brush out your hair, divide it into two even sections and then tie the sections into a knot. Next, wrap each section of hair around the knot and pin into place.

12. Messy chignon – So you know how, when you’re in a rush, you pull your hair back and loop it back into the ponytail? That’s kind of what this hairstyle is, but more finessed. All you have to do is gather hair into a low ponytail and then loop it into a low chignon bun with some hair peeking out. Next, pull that excess hair around the elastic, wrap it around the base and secure. Finally, pull out little pieces of hair at your discretion and march yourself right out the door.

13. Sometimes, all you need to do is put a bow on it! This pretty bow hairstyle is very easy if you know how to tie a simple bow knot.
Just take two small sections of hair (one from each side) and tie them together in a neat bow!

14. The braided bun appears a lot more complicated than it really is, and it’s a great solution to bad hair days.
Pull hair back into a low side ponytail just behind your ear and secure with an elastic.
Separate a 2-inch-wide section from the ponytail and braid it.
Pull the braid aside and wind the rest of the ponytail around its base. Anchor with hairpins.
Wrap the braid around the bun and pin the ends into the underside.

15. The rope twist braid is a super easy, super fast and super pretty hairstyle that will afford you some extra time for sleeping in. This two strand braid is created by twisting your hair in one direction, then wrapping the two sections together in the opposite directing. The contrast in directions forms a strong braid that can be worn as a ponytail style, or twisted around into buns or chignons.

Homemade Hair Masks For a Glossy Mane! /_p=1176 /_p=1176#comments Fri, 09 Jan 2015 21:18:02 +0000 /_p=1176 While getting a hair spa treatment once in a while is necessary to boost your hair shine and strength, you don’t, however, need to blow big bucks every other week at the salon. Salon treatments are heavy on the wallets and you can’t be sure of the damage the chemicals in those products might cause. Lucky for us, there are many other ways to achieve a great-looking, supremely healthy mane – the ingredients for which can be found in our kitchen cabinets!

Hydrating Hair Mask

1 Egg (whole), 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoon curd/yogurt. Mix all ingredients together in a blender and apply from the roots of your hair (covering entire scalp) to the tips. Shampoo after an hour of keeping. This treatment can be done twice a month.

Deep Conditioning Mask (to tame frizzy hair)

1 Egg, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoon mayo (yes, mayo!), freshly squeezed juice of 1 lemon. Whisk all ingredients together and apply all over the scalp for an hour. Wash off with cold water and shampoo as usual. This deep conditioning hair mask is your saviour against dandruff and frizz!

Deep Nourishment Hair Mask

1 mashed Avocado, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon honey, 1/4th cup milk. Mix all ingredients together and apply once a month for smooth, shiny, nourished locks. Wash hair with cold water after an hour of application.

Hair Strengthening Mask

1 mashed banana, 2 teaspoon olive oil, 2 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon milk. Blend all ingredients together with a hand blender and apply from roots to tips, covering the entire scalp. Wash off after an hour. Treat yourself to this hair mask twice a month and say goodbye to hair fall problems.

Ultimate Homemade Hair Spa

1/2 mashed avocado, 1/2 mashed banana, 1 beaten egg, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon curd/yogurt, juice of 1 lemon. Mix all ingredients together in a blender and apply all over the scalp from roots to tips. Shampoo as usual after keeping for an hour. This miracle worker is the ultimate hair spa for your tresses, to be used once every month.

Take care of washing hair with cold to normal temperature water. Sure, it’ll be tempting to wash hair with warm/ hot water but that will just strip your hair of it’s natural oils and sheen. For smooth, shiny hair, you can also try rinsing them with either vodka or vinegar (1 cup) after you shampoo.

Finally, drink plenty of water so that you keep hydrated at all times!
