To make your wardrobe planning a little easier, we’ve zeroed in on the 10 key shoe styles every woman should have in her closet. If you adhere to this foolproof footwear plan, then you’ll always have the pair you need. From your secret-weapon statement shoe to the go-anywhere ankle boot, read on to see, shop, and stock your closet with all the necessary ingredients.
Come fall, fashionistas can’t get enough of this comfy boot. Best with a low heel, they are super comfy and make a pair of jeans or leggings look like a million bucks. You can even pair them with a dress or skirt to give a feminine look some edge. For Fall, Winter, rain, and beyond, a pair of tall boots lends polish and protection from the elements. They’re as chic as they are practical.
They range from casual (like a brown leather pair with a low heel) to dressy (like stiletto black booties). Whichever one you choose, the versatility is endless. For an easy brunch look, pair some skinny or boot-cut jeans with a rugged ankle boot. To dress it up, pair jeans or a skirt with a medium high-heeled ankle boot. It’s no wonder these ankle boots have a huge celebrity following. The neutral hue and walkable heel will serve you well year-round.
It’s the quintessential shoe (as long as you can walk in it). Whether your favorite is a pointy-, round- or square-toed heel, choose one you feel comfortable in. And don’t get hung up on height. A 2-inch kitten heel can look just as polished as a 2-inch stiletto. This pair of polished pumps will never let you down. From the office to your evenings out, these are a classically chic finish to everything.
A summer staple that adds a heavy dose of style to your wardrobe, a high, strappy sandal can be worn anywhere from a wedding to a girls’ night. This is the type of shoe that looks great with a pop of color because it can really punch up an outfit. Come Spring and Summer, we make the seasonal shift to sandals. Great wedges are easy to walk in and pair just as well with party dresses as they do with casual shorts and denim.
When your feet need a little R&R, a flat is welcome relief. Sport a casual pair when you’re spending the day traveling or shopping. A dressy, leather flat is perfect for work — we always keep a pair stashed under our desks. Ballet flats (or skimmer flats) are a no-fuss solution to feeling polished and pulled together while on the go. They’re equal parts ladylike and casual, meaning we can wear them with pretty pleated skirts, shift dresses, or even cutoffs.
Whether you love a boat shoe, canvas slip-ons or an old-school pair of Keds, every woman needs a pair of cute sneakers. Wear them into work before you change into pumps or walk wherever the wind takes you.Gym sneakers are meant for the gym, but a pair of cute kicks like these are a wardrobe basic worth investing in.
It contours to your foot and lets you walk around without a blister. The flat sandal is a true warm-weather essential. Rubber flip-flops aren’t supportive at all. These will have arch support for comfort and stylish details that are everywhere right now. Think of these as your much-cooler alternative to flip-flops. Since we gravitate toward flat sandals all Summer long, make sure you opt for a pair with details you’ll be happy to slip into on a daily basis. Something with a fun color or great studded finish can up the ante on your everyday dress.
Every girl needs a pair of seriously sexy heels in her arsenal. Whether you opt for vibrant color, a statement print, or ultra glamorous detailing, this pair should be the one you throw on with everything from jeans to your evening dresses to feel instantly sexy.

Maxi Skirts – It seems that 2016 is taking a style cue from the ’70s! It’s the complete flower child fix for the free spirited bohemians out there, but this skirt length is also much more than that. The romantic, flowy maxi skirt is a gorgeous silhouette, and it can be styled so many ways. Whatever your personal style preference, we’re pretty sure there is a perfect maxi skirt somewhere out there for you.
The trend has now evolved to offer fashion lovers a garment that is both comfortable and sexy: side-split maxis. The beauty of the maxi split trend is that it can be paired with everything from a leather jacket to a silk blouse and can be worn in a variety of different settings.
A-Line Skirts – There is something wonderfully feminine and freeing about wearing an A-line skirt (which is wider at the bottom, like the capital letter A). It accentuates a woman’s hourglass curves—but, unlike a pencil skirt, allows freedom of movement. Instead of stepping carefully, one can stride—or even sashay! This slightly retro shape can be ladylike or wildly sensual, depending on the fabric and volume of the skirt. Stiffer materials tend to be more conservative and work-appropriate. And fluid full skirts can be downright seductive! The temptation to twirl is hard to resist.
Pencil Skirts – A black pencil skirt is arguably one of the most versatile items in any lady’s closet, and accordingly, should be a mandatory part of any style arsenal. It may have started as an office essential, but that doesn’t mean this knee-length sheath is strictly business. Pair it with fun graphic tees and sneakers for the perfect sporty chic look. Fit and length are the two most important aspects and you should never choose a skirt that is too tight (it looks tacky and it will be incredibly uncomfortable). If the skirt bunches or makes horizontal lines at the hips then you know it’s too small. As for length, a pencil skirt should fall around the knees, or just over, ensuring that the skirt draws attention to the slimmest part of your legs.

THE WORST
One Earring – The runways this year mandated for you to choose a generously sized pair of earrings with a strange catch: just wear one of them. But the feeling is weird and, for bystanders who are not fashionably inclined, they’d just think, “Did she forget to put her other earring?” or worse, “Poor girl. She lost her earring.” We don’t want that, do we?
Furry Soled Shoes – Comfortable? Probably. Worth looking like you slid stuffed animals into your mules? Probably not.
Too-Micro Bags -When we said miniature bags are in next year, we didn’t mean ridiculously teeny-tiny handbags. You know, the types that are only acceptable if worn by Barbie dolls? These bags are cute for sure but what’s the point of even bringing one if you can barely fit your phone in it?
Elongated Sleeves – Céline and Stella McCartney introduced the “super sleeves,” with lengths that extend beyond your hands. Chic as they may look on the runways, we think you should still prioritize dexterity over anything else.
Sarong Pants – The giveaway is in the name. Is it a sarong? Is it a pant? The objects in question have a slice of fabric cut diagonally across the front of the pants, and tie on the side of the waist, just like a sarong. Only they’re pants. It’s the equivalent of wearing a sarong skirt over a pair of pants, so if you really want to buy into the bizarre trend without forking over $1000 on a designer pair, you can just do that.
THE BEST
Boudoir Dressing – Gone are the days when sexy silk dresses were just meant for the bedroom. This year, brands like Balenciaga and Céline allowed them to see the light of day. We can see you making that come-hither look with extra style mileage until next year and probably beyond, even!
A-line Mini Skirts – Worn atop bare legs or tights, they’re seasonless and leg-lengthening: a winning combo.
Bare Shoulders – This year’s erogenous zone of choice is your shoulder area. Off-shoulder dresses, bikini tops, and bandage tops are the pieces that took the forefront all year-long. Who knew that our very shoulders, which we often tend to hide, are actually a secret asset we should continue showing off?
Nerdy Bohemian – Did Gucci just become the newest trendsetter of the year? Ever since Alessandro Michele joined the famed Italian brand, nerdy bohemian has gotten everyone excited all-year round. Think ruffled floral dresses styled with geeky frames and berets and printed suits matched with loafers and brightly hued ties. Yes, Alessandro is actually the best thing that happened to fashion this 2015.
Monochrome and Neutrals – If we were to look at the street style outfits of the stars, we’d be bombarded with tons of monochromatic looks and chic neutrals. Real-life dressing has been pared down and it’s never looked this enticing to wear! Kendall Jenner made white and beige the coolest color palette and many rocked black-on-black à la Gigi Hadid. Amid the maximalist trends of the year, subtle fashion choices will continue to rule the streets well into the next few months.
Ponchos – Cozy and statement-making, we pray that these guys stay around for years to come. (Not least because we’re this close to justifying the investment of a midnight suede fringe situation.)
Culottes – We’ve said it time and time again: Culottes might be the perfect pants. They can be dressed up or dressed down, and the billowy breeze isn’t half bad.
Dhoti Pants – One of the absolute best trends of Indian occasion-wear. We now have a refreshingly different choice of clothing to pick instead of the classic Lehenga and Palazzos. Come wedding season, you can bet we’ll be pairing our cholis, kurtas and crop tops with super stylish dhoti pants, for the ultimate chic effect.
What was your favorite trend of 2015 and which one you’d rather leave behind in the year past? Tell us in the comments section below!

Here are some new and fun outfit ideas for car wash skirts that you might want to try out now.
Create an easy and comfortable office outfit with car wash skirt by pairing it with a crisp short sleeved blouse and sleek strapped sandals. So go all-out sleek with your outfit, maybe have a car wash skirt made of leather. This way, the thick fringes themselves gives a lot of femininity to the outfit.
Throw on a thick large sweater and a maxi car wash skirt with slits all the way to the top. It’s even more fabulous if the skirt is in a bold print. Pair the ensemble with neat white sneakers because it adds a lot to the casualness of the outfit without letting go of the chic factor.
A getup of bold printed blouse matched with a lightweight black car wash skirt and a bright heels can be an ideal date outfit for the upcoming summer. The abstract prints of the blouse with hues of pink, purple and red and the bold colored heels gives off a flirty and playful feel while the neutral colored car wash skirt tones them down with a romantic vibe.
When sporting an all-out black or white outfit, donning a car wash skirt will add enough texture to the attire and you want that. While not entirely imperative, texture is something you want to consider putting in a monochromatic outfit so as not to make the ensemble too boring and bland.
You can also construct the “contrasting material” scheme with car wash skirt by putting on one that is made of something lightweight and breezy like cotton and matching that skirt with a top made of heavier material such as leather jackets and denim.
To take the oomph factor up, you can also have a car wash skirt wherein instead of slits in the pleats, there are sheer underlay. It’s super cute and sophisticated and sexy at the same time.
]]>Solid shades are not only timeless, but effortlessly chic. This is especially true when it comes to outerwear, and the cape is no exception. Shades range from soft greys and beiges to rosy pinks and vivid reds.
On the retail end- Zara, Topshop and H&M (among others) seems to agree, including a selection of coveted capes among their new winter wardrobe collections.
On the designer front, Talitha, Tibi and Temperley have all championed the trend, from the ultra-cosy, to the cool embroidered boho versions. And as pricey as they may seem, the investment potential here is huge.
And if you’re wondering why this is becoming such a rave- the cape is the perfect piece for
layering in winter with all that knitwear. For the office a chic black cropped version will add
instant cool points to your classic white shirt and navy cropped trouser combo. And for the
slightly warmer months, a cape worn over a basic tee or even with jeans and trainers can look
dreamy and cool.
Fashion’s recent obsession with all things suede extends into the season’s cape trend made of
this popular material. Undoubtedly, Capes are the new jackets. After last year’s boom in blanket
ponchos, thanks to Christopher Bailey’s coveted monogrammed Burberry Prorsum piece that sparked
a movement among the fashion set, traditional jackets have been given the cold shoulder.
Designers have dialed up the drama on the winter wardrobe and their shows during Paris Fashion
Week, eschewing jackets in favor for cool capes in varying silhouettes, prints, and textiles.
Designer Alber Elbaz showcased the Lanvin show with a textured black shift, adding a higher degree of flair with a feathery topper, a theatrical hooded black cape, complete with black leather opera-length gloves and knee-high boots. At Chloe, designer Clare Waight Keller turned to the ’70s for inspiration with a folksy line-up that she toughened up with military-inspired coats and capes . And at Vionnet, fluffy cropped capes served as the perfect companion to evening wear with prints that swirled from the hooded piece to the gown.
The winter runways for outerwear saw designer options that are not so ordinary, graphic designs and eye-catching accents are the way to go. With geometric prints and dazzling adornments, these capes will certainly make fashion spotting heads turn.
]]>Though they might not look all that much at first glance, but they definitely have a tendency to grow on you. And there is literally no limit to the ways you can wear them – dress them up, or dress them down, flatforms will be up for any challenge! Like platforms, but with a uniform height across the sole, high flatform shoes can feel a little kitsch, chunky and crazy to the more minimalist and classic among us. Luckily, fashion bloggers are paving the way for Spring’s cool new shoe, inspiring easy ways to make the style chic.
For a 70’s inspired look, pair your playful flatform sandals with a fringe skirt or wide-leg pants, and finish it off with a breezy bohemian top (or an ultra femme crochet top).
You can get a pair of cool flatform sneakers like Miley Cyrus. These are the height of effortless chic, believe us. And sneakers never ever do go out of fashion, so you’re safe on that account too!
Or you can go for the perfect “boy meets girl” look and wear your flatform kicks with a cute skirt.
For a formal look, wear your flatforms with well-fitted cigarette pants and a crisp blazer or a tailored dress (plain or printed is entirely up to you!).
Flatforms are not just for the practical people or the free-spirited, it’s also a summer favorite of the people who live in their denims. Enhance your casually elegant look with this season’s best shoes!
It can even be the go-to pair of shoes when you’re dressing up for a night out – leather jacket and the works.
So all in all, flatforms are a pretty safe bet for almost every kind of look. For everything you wear, from pretty florals to rugged leather jackets to boyfriend jeans, we’re sure you’ll find a flatform to go with it perfectly!

Known for his exaggerated artistic creations, Sabyasachi showcased a lot of structural style in his couture collection, presenting both modern and eccentric design with his shape-skimming creations. Among the offerings in the Sabyasachi and Louboutin collaboration were romantic saris paired with floor-grazing capes, short dresses, feminine maxis, skirts, jumpsuits, bold accessories (including spiked clutches), and of course, spectacular shoes – every piece essential and a must have to a couture wardrobe.
The models wore Louboutin’s iconic scarlet soles during the Sabyasachi show, the vibrant color reflected in a handful of designers trademark designs, making for a true pairing of the aesthetics of both Sabyasachi and Louboutin.
Falling right above expectations, the much-anticipated Sabyasachi and Louboutin shoe creations showcased in the collection were nothing short of spectacular. Edgy embellishments, feminine floral appliqués work and adorned the stacked stilettos with chic elegant heeled sandals. Men’s styles for the collection feature a rather romantic vintage flair, with delicate laces and dapper loafer designs. Perfectly complementing and harmonizing the exquisite couture fashions of the collection, each pair of shoes reflect Sabyasachi’s elaborate design aesthetic.
The first Indian designer to collaborate with Louboutin, Sabyasachi called the pairing a “wish fulfillment.” And he wasn’t the only one absolutely smitten with the collaboration. “I like designs that have a heritage and history attached to them. This is simply spectacular,” said Louboutin.

]]>This season, many designers have opted to use the luxurious material in an unexpected way – exclusively on the sleeves. With these styles, the commitment to fur is minimal, we are seeing the ” Less is more” approach. A touch of it at the sleeves is all it takes to add eye-catching texture and a head turning ensemble.
Fall can often be a tricky season to dress for, with weather being more unpredictable than the frigid temperatures of winter, when all you can do is cover up. Though a coat completely covered in fur may be appropriate for days that dip below freezing, mild weather requires a lighter touch of the beloved trend-this is where the fur sleeves play their fashion roles perfectly. Seamlessly transition into the crisp fall season with fur sleeves that reflect the vivid colors of changing leaves.
Demure colors and subtle palette creates a timeless piece, especially done for a coat. Whether it’s a classic black, a chic winter white or an elegant taupe, neutral colors pair well with anything, and can take you through multiple seasons. This fall, take your coat to the next level with fur sleeves in a contrasting shade. Though the overall look remains monochromatic, the various shades provide extra dimension to the coat, adding interest and depth. “Stand out” even when the weather says otherwise.

Celebrating Fall and Winter fashion for the seasons to come, the show surely had some highlight moments. Brands like New York Life, B Michaels, Ralph Lauren brought their living catalogs to help us look chic even when we find snow on our boots.
Looking at the collections, we can only admire the inspiration, creation and attention to detail poured in by the designers. The awe-inspiring ensembles had fashion mavens all around the world talking. But, if you feel unsure about being able to rock them, let’s take a look at some of these trend setting styles that are easy to incorporate in your daily lifestyle.
Turtlenecks
The 90’s are back and for good. Not only seen as a great layering piece but a stunner element on its own. This runway favorite can be easily added under any outerwear, to have a chic style statement added to your garb. Pair it with a long skirt, when in doubt for the cool days.
Big Collars
This old Hollywood glam is making a big comeback just around the shoulder, although structured, the collars are perfect for adding or losing layers when you are trying to brave the season. In a blazer, coat or vest, the style is never felt to be too overpowering.
Gold
The one fashion trend that’s immortal-GOLD. Whether you love it in jewelry or on your own runway, Gold has a way to impress without the effort. Make this metallic trend the star of your clothing, by pairing t with black and other neutrals.
Casual Glamour
If you like to maintain a subtle yet glam persona, chances are your wardrobe is full of some casual everyday clothing and some party wear for occasions. NYFW2015 merged these polars. Adding the right amount of sequins and bling to give the casual clothing an edge, is as easy as it sounds. Give your outfit, the right amount of “girly” with this new trend.
Deep “V” Neckline
Contrary to popular fashion rules, the designers pushed the envelope with deep necklines and high slits in the long dress. We are loving this trend, for the versatility and variety it brings to the climate governed outfit.
Long Coats
If you too have a classic coat, that doubles as a statement piece; you are already half way there. As most stylists would tell you, this is a must have fall element. The bold choice, makes it a unique choice and the practicality of it, lets you pair it with innumerable outfit options. Whether it’s bright colored, fur coat, cape style or vest, make sure you are comfortable and love yourself in it.
Mens-wear inspired
Androgynous clothing has seen its fair share of trend setting styles. The same was showcased by designers like Ralph Lauren. The fashion element can be easily incorporated into office or formal wear. Another way to expand your wardrobe, and take some clothing off your guys closet. Who wouldn’t love that?
Bigger than your size
No need to get your clothing altered, we get the message loud and clear. The runway brought some great flair to ill-fitting, over the top size dresses, that were inspiring as they were intriguing.
Modern Head-wear
Gone are the days of hoodies and beanie caps for fall. The fashion week taught us to flaunt our cowboy side, with wide edge hats paired with sleek pants. We are definitely loving this new take on the head-wear.
Tell us your fashion favs from the NYFW 2015 in the comments below.
]]>1. Head to Toe Prints – Quirky all-over prints are big this season. Think lots of colors coming together to create intriguing prints. Many designers like Kristy De Cunha, Masaba Gupta, Siddharth Bansal and Urvashi Joneja showcased to-die-for statement prints any girl would want to own. Opt for light and pastel shades to keep it subtle and stylish, if loud color prints are overwhelming to you.
2. Dhoti Pants – The one trend that stood out on the LFW runway was the stylish dhoti pants. From a cropped knee length to chic ankle lengths, these were everywhere. You can pair them with cropped tops, short kurtis and even maxi tops that open down the front.
3. Monochrome Prints – This is another trend that seems here for the long haul. It was one of the biggest trends this season and many designers like AM:PM, Ilk, Payal Singhal, Tarun Tahiliani amongst others showcased a lot of monochrome. It is very easy to carry off the trend. Just remember to add some color with your shoes, accessories or even your lipstick to keep the outfit interesting.
4. Gold – And the “new black” for this season is Gold. Gold embroideries on white or black made for the most amazing festive outfits. While Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla went all out and made flapper style gold dresses, designers like Ritu Kumar, Gaurang, Anita Dongre and Sonal Verma had a more minimalist use of gold. If you are not someone who loves too much bling, wear gold accessories instead. A statement neck piece, sequinned bag or a golden belt or even matte gold shoes will add to your outfit.
5. Sheer – The runway featured a lot of see-through fabrics this season. Designers like Namrata Joshipura, Nikhil Thampi and Monisha Jaising used a lot of sheer in their collection. If you’re not willing to go too daring, you can always opt for tops and dresses with sheer sleeves and backs.
6. Kimono Capes – From long colorful capes to monochrome floor length kimonos, they are all really big right now. The best part is they hide the extra flab and make you look oh-so-stylish. The collections of Arunima Majhi, ILK and Sreejith Jeevan saw a lot of kimono style jackets.
7. Floral Textures – It seems like florals will never go out of fashion. Be it spring-summer or autumn-winter, you will always looks good in pretty florals. Designers like Nachiket Barve, Neeta Lulla, Narendra Kumar used florals liberally in their collections.
8. Candy Pastels – Loud colors are out the window this season and so are neons. Bid them adieu and bring home pretty pastels instead, especially for your ethnic wear. Try to wear two to three pastel shades at the same time to add life to your look.
9. Stylized Saris – As usual, many designers tried to redefine the sari by bringing palazzo pants, dhoti pants and even churidaars into the picture. From AM:PM to Ritu Kumar and Swati Vijaivargie, designers did wonders with the classic sari. You can definitely go for a stylized sari look this wedding season!
10. Slit Sleeves – Buy yourself an outfit with slit sleeves, if you want to be in the running for Fashionista of the Year! It is one of the most prominent trends this season. Designer Anita Dongre, Ridhi Mehra and many others featured this trend in their collection. Avoid it altogether if you have way too skinny wrists.
11. Maxi Tops – Maxi tops were seen dominating the runway this season and will make it big soon on the streets. The best part about them is that they can be worn by women of any shape and size, with any style of pants and will always look stylish. Designers and brands like AM:PM, Antar-Agni, and Sangria had the maxi top trend ruling their collections.
12. Layering – Designers like Sreejith Jeevan, Swati Vijaivargie, and [Ka][Sha] amongst others, featured the layering trend predominantly in their collection. Just remember not to go too overboard with it, otherwise you will end up with a bulky look.
13. Earthy Neutrals – Subdued shades were seen everywhere this season, and predominant among them were earthy neutral tones. Colors like light browns, greys, and black are really ruling the ramp, if collections like Antar-Agni and Stephany D’Souza are anything to go by.
14. Monotone Outfits – Dress yourself in one color from head to toe this season, because the monotone trend is on the rise, especially when it comes to festive traditional wear.

]]>Women have always taken fancy to men’s wear- be it the androgynous suit-pant or carrying a box cut kurta in style. Designers are not hesitant in pushing the gender clothing styles. The fashion world is beginning to witness more of the “UN-GENDER” fusion styles. When designer Masaba Gupta crafted the short dhoti version of the sari for Sonam Kapoor, it instantly took news and became a head turner. The feisty trend spread like wildfire, which further led to newer breathtaking versions of the cut as displayed by Sougat Paul’s Soup. His tangerine pleated skirt paired with belted sea green top without the pallu version has given new meaning to the phrase sari.
The whimsical experimentation has now gone beyond the limits of fabric choice, extending to the petticoat and blouse. The new-age fashionista can now effortlessly pair a pre-constructed fusion sari with a pair of palazzo/dhoti pants to a movie, or earn style accolades by daring a lycra sari wrapped midway over a pair of tights/skinny jeans for a cocktail party. With the mélange of state-of-the-art fabrics, comfort elements, unconventional structure and a geographically border-less appeal, this classic heritage ensemble is no longer confined to conventional occasions or customary events. Moreover, they are now slowly paving their way into cocktail parties.
With the extinct of dhotis among the male clothing fashion, the designers have now geared up to save this traditional garb as a female outfit. In order to gel this ethnic outfit with current contemporary styles and to satisfy the younger generations’ staggering need for fashion greed, a handful of designers are now interpreting this utopia bygone garb for the modern women-on-the-go. Pairing it with unconventional pieces and inviting imagination and statement at every stage possible.

]]>While the “normcore” trend has come and gone, we’re still holding on to our white sneakers—and for good reason, they only get better with age, plus they go with everything from a sundress to jeans and a t-shirt. Back in the winter of 2014 white sneakers made a strong showing both on the runway and on the street-style folks, causing a near panic as everyone tried to get their hands on a pair of Stan Smiths. Now a year later, instead of feeling sneaker fatigue, it seems like every other day a new collaboration or collection pops up to get us excited all over again.
Here are the types of white sneakers that you need in your wardrobe!
Classic Canvases – Fabric lace-ups evoke warm days spent at summer camp. To recapture that nostalgia, you can go with the Keds you probably wore at age 10.
High Tops – Worn with skinny jeans or paired with a skirt, they’re the throwback style that says you’re on top of your sneaker game.
Platform Sneakers – If you need something cooler, platform sneakers provide a little height on the days you don’t want to suffer in heels.
Studded Dunks – When you need to go uber-chic and edgy!
Sparkly Plimsolls – Definitely have a pair of these in your closet for days when you find yourself wanting to break the monotony and go glam.

You guessed it right, just as the name suggests…a shirtdress is a SHIRT worn as a DRESS. A shirt dress can be a dexterous part of any wardrobe. They’re perfect for wearing on a casual basis, but can also be morphed to meet more formal occasions. The key to achieving dynamic looks with the shirt dress is to be clever with your overall ensemble. When styled correctly, no one is going to accuse of forgetting your pants at home. So get ready to rock this trending style with ease.
Choose a loose fit:
Wearing a looser fitting shirt dress is not only more complimentary and adjusting of body size, but more comfortable as well. Simply select one in a more relaxed cut that allows room for movement. If your shirt dress has buttons down the front, a too-tight fit may cause them to pop, and that’s not flattering at all!
Dress Length vs heel:
When thinking about the right footwear to pair with your shirtdress, consider the rule-“the shorter the dress, the lower the heel”, especially when you plan to carry this look during the day. A knee length shirt dress worn with heels can look quite sophisticated, whereas a mini shirt dress worn with heels has the ability to look inappropriate. The same mini dress worn with flats, however, seems more appropriate.
Accentuate the waist:
With any dress, you don’t want the size overpowering you-some styles of shirtdresses can be quite shapeless and may even swamp your figure. Avoid this by cinching in your waist with a belt or fabric tie. This will easily and effectively accentuate the appearance of a waistline. Add extra detail to the look by experimenting with interesting types of belts.
Go wild with prints:
A plain shirtdress is a smart and clever option, but trying one in a print or pattern can surely add that extra bit of oomph into your outfit. When considering to style a shirt dress in a print, try approaching it with more neutral accessories or chic elements from a similar color palette.
Accessorize:
Give the basic shirtdress a modern twist with on-trend accessories. Add a statement necklace here, put on chunky watch there – that’s where you can bring your personality in. Add some metallic shoes for a bit of funk, or maybe some comfortable kicks/sneakers for a more relaxed look. It’s all about adding a bit of YOU to your outfit.
Add ons:
Get creative with your additions, when it comes to shirtdresses 1-0-1. If you’re in a quirky mood, add another unbuttoned shirt as a jacket, or add a bit more volume in the dress by wearing a fuller skirt underneath. All in all, the styling options are countless.
So how would you wear your shirt today?
