While getting a hair spa treatment once in a while is necessary to boost your hair shine and strength, you don’t, however, need to blow big bucks every other week at the salon. Salon treatments are heavy on the wallets and you can’t be sure of the damage the chemicals in those products might cause. Lucky for us, there are many other ways to achieve a great-looking, supremely healthy mane – the ingredients for which can be found in our kitchen cabinets!

Hydrating Hair Mask

1 Egg (whole), 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoon curd/yogurt. Mix all ingredients together in a blender and apply from the roots of your hair (covering entire scalp) to the tips. Shampoo after an hour of keeping. This treatment can be done twice a month.

Deep Conditioning Mask (to tame frizzy hair)

1 Egg, 1 tablespoon honey, 2 tablespoon mayo (yes, mayo!), freshly squeezed juice of 1 lemon. Whisk all ingredients together and apply all over the scalp for an hour. Wash off with cold water and shampoo as usual. This deep conditioning hair mask is your saviour against dandruff and frizz!

Deep Nourishment Hair Mask

1 mashed Avocado, 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon honey, 1/4th cup milk. Mix all ingredients together and apply once a month for smooth, shiny, nourished locks. Wash hair with cold water after an hour of application.

Hair Strengthening Mask

1 mashed banana, 2 teaspoon olive oil, 2 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon milk. Blend all ingredients together with a hand blender and apply from roots to tips, covering the entire scalp. Wash off after an hour. Treat yourself to this hair mask twice a month and say goodbye to hair fall problems.

Ultimate Homemade Hair Spa

1/2 mashed avocado, 1/2 mashed banana, 1 beaten egg, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon coconut oil, 1 tablespoon curd/yogurt, juice of 1 lemon. Mix all ingredients together in a blender and apply all over the scalp from roots to tips. Shampoo as usual after keeping for an hour. This miracle worker is the ultimate hair spa for your tresses, to be used once every month.

Take care of washing hair with cold to normal temperature water. Sure, it’ll be tempting to wash hair with warm/ hot water but that will just strip your hair of it’s natural oils and sheen. For smooth, shiny hair, you can also try rinsing them with either vodka or vinegar (1 cup) after you shampoo.

Finally, drink plenty of water so that you keep hydrated at all times!
